and the development of a mature society.
Established in 1946, the Korean Psychological Association has over 70 years of history.
Its membership now reaches almost 20,000 people, and is sharply ever increasing. Under the wing of the KPA , there are fifteen divisions including those of clinical psychology, developmental psychology, social and personality psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, counseling psychology, consumer and advertising psychology, cognitive and biological psychology, social issues psychology, school psychology, woman psychology, health psychology, forensic psychology, addiction psychology, coaching psychology, and psychological measurement and evaluation.
These divisions publish their respective journals and hold their respective forums regularly. Korea sees departments of psychology being offered in about 36 universities, which every year produce over a combined 1,000 graduates. The Korean Psychological Association issues licenses in the areas of clinical psychology, counseling psychology, developmental psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, forensic psychology, addiction psychology and health psychology, coaching psychology, thereby helping majors in psychology advance into the society.
